Kathmandu – Rajendra Luitel (Raj) has been elected as the Central President of the Event Management Association during its third General Convention and Electoral Assembly 2082. A total of 13 new executive committee members have been elected under Luintel’s leadership for the upcoming two-year term of the Association, which is the umbrella organization of event organizers and event managers from across the country.

The convention, held at Boutique Hotel in Lazimpat, Kathmandu, elected Trishna Gurung and Samir Lama as Vice Presidents, Sonitraj Dhungel as General Secretary, Bipin Pokharel as Secretary, and Manoj Thapa as Treasurer—all unopposed.

Likewise, Bhagirath Kumar Pokharel was elected as Joint Secretary, Sapana Rai as Joint Treasurer, and Subash Shrestha Pradhan, Ramkrishna Shrestha, Rahul Banjade, Pooja Regmi, and Lomas Karki as Executive Members.

Senior singer Sitaram Koirala, senior journalist B.M. Acharya, and advocate Keshav Pokharel served as election officers for the election process.

The newly elected officials were congratulated and awarded certificates by Chief Guest Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Indira Rana Magar, along with special guest Dr. Arpana Shah and other dignitaries. Various presidents and office bearers of different associations participated in the event as observers.

More than 120 event organizers and companies from across the country took part in the convention. During the same event, three advisors were appointed: senior physician and lyricist Dr. Bhola Rijal, Film Development Board Chairman Dinesh D.C., and Teaching Hospital professor and former Lions Club governor Dr. Sushila Mall. They were awarded advisory certificates.

Also during the ceremony, outgoing president of the Association, Mr. Love Bahadur Karki, was honored as a patron. The event was hosted and facilitated by B.M. Acharya.
