Chitwan, Aug 7: Minister for Agriculture, Forest and Tourism, Gita Chaudhary, has said an ‘elephant sanctuary’ event was being organized for the promotion of human-wildlife coexistence.

Talking to media persons here today, Minister Chaudhary said even the wild animals deserve rights to live like humans. “As humans have right to life, so are the wild animals. They need life and freedom,” she said, adding that the programme would be held for creating safe atmosphere for the wild animals.

The Minister further informed that the government was planning to conduct similar programme- ‘tiger sanctuary’, which she argued would play a significant role in promoting tourism. The government has forwarded various programmes to minimize the human-wildlife conflict, according to her.

The families of those losing lives in wildlife attacks and those getting injuries were being provided relief.
