Janakpurdham, Aug 2: The Siraha-Sarlahi section of the postal highway, which is considered the backbone of Madhes province’s development, has reached its final stage.
A total of 24 bridges have been constructed in this section, recording 90 percent of the progress. According to the Postal Highway Directorate here, 347.63 km of the 406.43 km from Siraha to Sarlahi was blacktopped.
Similarly, 19 bridges including three each in Dhanusha, Mahottari and Siraha and seven in Sarlahi are nearing completion.
Out of the remaining 58.8 km of roads, the contract process for 12.8 km long roads has begun. Office chief Krishna Kumar Mahato told RSS that the project was being over in the current fiscal year.
