Birgunj, April 16: An all-party meeting in Biragunj city have urged one and all not to involve in activities that disrupt social harmony.
The meeting attended by eight political parties’ chiefs and representatives in the district appealed to all people and groups not to give statements or act in a way that disturbs social and religious harmony and fraternity subsisting for long in the city.
The parties made such appeal in the wake of tense situation emerged after two religious communities clashed over the procession organized on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.
Rastriya Swatantra Party’s chair in the district, Hari Pant, shared that they requested all sides to keep intact social harmony and peace.
The parties attending the meeting included Nepali Congress, CPN UML, RSP, Janamat Party, RPP, JSP, CPN (Unified Socialist).
Meanwhile, the business entities in Birgunj have requested all sides concerned to help create atmosphere favourable for running business in the metropolis.
