Kathmandu – Lion Bhagwan Karki has been honored with the Sagarmatha Social Service Award. Karki received this award during the sixth Sagarmatha Music Award ceremony held on Sunday at the Rashtriya Nachghar, Jamal. The founder president of the Lions Club of Kathmandu Karmalaya, Lion Karki, was jointly honored by the chief guest, former minister, senior lyricist and literary figure SP Koirala, along with Lions International District 325 H’s Second Vice District Governor Lion Uddhav Silwal, and District 325 J’s Chief Advisor Lion Kushprasad Malli.

Currently serving as the Zone Chairperson of District 325 H, Lion Karki has been active in social service and the tourism business for the past 15 years. Since joining the Lions Club in 2016, he has participated in various charitable activities, including building a school in the remote village of Swaragaun, Gorkha, for 250 students. He has also been providing accommodation, food, and education facilities to economically disadvantaged, visually impaired children in Swaragaun since 2011. Additionally, he manages a hostel in Kathmandu for visually impaired students pursuing higher education. More than 70 small children receive day care facilities in remote areas of Bhokteni, Gorkha, and Majhagau, Gorkha. Over 35 needy children from different parts of Nepal are receiving educational sponsorship.
