Gandaki Sept 27: Floodwaters from the Kaligandaki River washed away five houses at Farse and Lasti Bazaar of Jaljala Rural Municipality-8 in Parbat, while several other houses remain at risk of flooding.
According to chairman of the Rural Municipality, Raju Acharya, residents living in vulnerable areas have been evacuated to safer places. The rising waters in the Kaligandaki have also caused erosion along the riverbanks in various areas of Myagdi, Parbat, Baglung and other districts.
The raging Kaligandaki River caused concern among the people here.
